race Rules & regulations
Location: Balis Park, San Marco Square (Outdoor Event)
Date & Time: March 8th, 3:00pm - 3:30pm, Awards at 3:45pm at the Gazebo
Cost: FREE
Eligibility: Participants must be dachshunds or dachshund mixes. All dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations and in good health.
Registration: Pre-registration is required and will be open until 2:00 pm on March 8th, 2025. Owners must sign a waiver at On-Site Registration. There is no registration fee.
Race Course: The race will take place on a designated track with a clear start and finish line. The track should be free from obstacles and hazards. Each dog will have a designated lane, and lanes will be randomly assigned before the race.
Race Format: Races will be conducted in heats* with winners advancing to subsequent rounds. Heat* assignments will be posted before the event. The final winner will be determined in a championship round.
Owner Responsibilities: Owners must keep dogs on a leash until the start of their heat*. Owners are responsible for their dogs' behavior and must be present during the entire event. Any aggressive behavior will result in disqualification.
Attire: Owners are encouraged to dress up themselves and their dogs in fun and creative costumes.
Prizes: Prizes, courtesy of Earth Pets San Marco, will be awarded for first, second, and third place.
Judging: Judges' decisions are final. Criteria for judging include speed, and adherence to the race course.
